ECE Educators from Canada & Philippines!
In May and June, from Canada and Philippines, 2 groups of early childhood educators visited Villaggio Dei Bambini!
From International British Academy, Philippines,
Ms. Maria Camatog, Deputy Headmistress of Primary Section and Ms. Jale Nidera, EYP Coordinator,
With our friend,
Ms. Mary Ann Hood, Lecturer at Yew Chung Community College, Hong Kong, visited us.
They are such a lovely people, and we are so glad to meet new friends!
And, thank you for the books! Children were enjoying reading them♪
From the Reggio leading school, Peter Green Hall Children’s Centre, Halifax Canada, Justin and Matthew came! Oh, they are so talented, passionate and experienced educators! We were so lucky to have them here.
Justin West: A Reggio Emilia inspired early childhood educator. He is mainly watching Peter Green Hall Children’s Centre, and a lot of child development centres in Nova Scotia, Canada. He is also a founder of Assemblage. In 2013, he received Canadian Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.
Matthew Sampson: He is also a Reggio Emilia inspired early childhood educator. He’s been working at Peter Green Hall Children’s Centre for more than 10 years. Matthew and Justin works a lot together.
They are both co-author of “The Power of Emergent Curriculum.“
After their visit, we made a talk event with Justin & Matthew with Hong Kong’s Reggio inspired educators. It was also a wonderful sharing and inspiration exchanging!

After they visited Hong Kong, they went to Japan. There, Justin & Matthew had another event with Japanese Reggio inspired educators (Reggio Emilia Study Group, Japan), such as my friend, Makoto Izumi!
Really, I’m so happy that our “Reggio” network is expanding and connecting!
