Children said they needed cake for the party, so they also prepared their own cakes.img-20161004-wa0049.

Happy Birthday!

We received a heartwarming message from Sarah Jebb, one of my favorite and respected Reggio Inspired educator from Australia.

Thank you Mabo!

You are doing wonderful things there I see. The children are also!

It came to my mind that something special has happened in this activity. The children were not told “too many candles”! Many teachers would limit the child in their quest to express. However, in the process of nurturing creativity as you have done, we are blessed with something truly sacred – a look inside the mind of a child! What must they be thinking? “What are candles? What are cakes? How can I show my friend how special they are to me? How many can fit in clay? How does this stay upright? Birthdays are my favourite! What is beautiful to me? What doesn’t work? How can I fix it? What does ‘a lot’ look like? I am individual. I am a social group. I am valued.” Etc etc

The 100 is very much there Mabo.

Xx

Keep it coming

Thanks Sarah! We do it!
